Brief Bio


Akash Ashapure is a Research Scientist at the Terrestrial Information Systems Lab of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center with Science Systems and Applications Inc (SSAI). Trained in geomatics, geospatial data analytics, and remote sensing, Dr. Ashapure earned a Ph.D. in Geomatics from Purdue University. His main area of research lies within the aquatic remote sensing domain with a focus on developing machine learning algorithms to improve retrievals of biophysical variables from existing and future NASA Earth Science satellite missions, uncertainty estimation, time-series analyses, and anomaly detection for satellite measurements of water quality and IOP products.
