The Global Change Data Center (GCDC) supports GSFC Earth science research by providing data and information systems,
data management services, and system engineering and science expertise to maximize the availability and utility of
data from earth observing satellites, models and field experiments.
Current Projects
The GES DISC Goddard Earth Science Data and Information Science Center is one of eight NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) DAACs that offer Earth science data, information, and services to research scientists, applications scientists, applications users, and students. The GES DISC is the home (archive) of Precipitation, Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics, and information, as well as data and information from other related disciplines.

The NASA Ocean Biology Processing Group supports the collection, processing, calibration, and validation of ocean-color and sea-surface-temperature products for a variety of missions including CZCS, OCTS, SeaWiFS, MERIS, MODIS, VIIRS, and HICO. These activities are supported within the framework and facilities of the current NASA Ocean Data Processing System (ODPS), which has been successfully supporting satellite-based remote-sensing missions since 1996. The group's capabilities continue to evolve and expand to meet the demands and challenges of future missions.

The PPS/T SDIS Precipitation Processing System/TRMM Science Data and Information System (PPS) evolved from the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Science Data and Information System (TSDIS). The purpose of the PPS is to process, analyze and archive data from the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission, partner satellites and the TRMM mission. All GPM, TRMM and Partner public data products are available to the science community and the general public.
