SPICE: Probing the Far-IR Universe on Never Before Seen Spatial Scales

Abstract
The Space Interferometer for Cosmic Evolution (SPICE) is a Far-IR Probe mission concept. SPICE will greatly improve our understanding of:
- the physical processes that drive the evolution of galaxies and their central massive blackholes throughout cosmic time;
- planet formation and water delivery to nascent planets; and
- planetary system architectures and their evolution.
In this four-part presentation, we will introduce the SPICE mission concept and describe how SPICE's unprecedented sub-arcsecond resolution and superlative sensitivity in the wavelength range 25 - 400 microns will enable us to achieve the mission's scientific objectives with observations of large statistical samples of distant galaxies, protoplanetary disks, and debris disks.
