Brief Bio


Becky Pike is the Sciences and Exploration Directorate (SED) Assistant Director for Engineering Operations at Goddard Space Flight Center. Becky is working with each of the SED divisions and offices providing overall integration for SED facilities management, laboratory operations and management of the Directorate’s safety, security and day-to-day operations. She has also recently completed a two-year tour as the Chair of the Women's Employee Resource Group (ERG) and Network (WEN), entering the role in January 2022, and has been an integral part of executing the GSFC Safety Awareness campaign, including chairing in May 2022. Becky previously served as the Quality Engineering Branch Head, Code 373, in the Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate. She worked to bring risk-based Quality Engineering skills to GSFC, while also growing the Civil Servant workforce and capability of the Branch. Previously, Becky was the Quality Engineering Manager for the Safety and Mission Assurance Services (SMAS) contract, that supplies SMA services to Goddard. She has also worked at Orbital (now Northrup Grumman) Dulles as a Flight Assurance Manager on the GEO-Star line and propulsion engineer. Becky started her career working mission operations for AQUA and AURA, GSFC. Through all of this professional experience, Becky has supported space flight projects in every phase from formulation, design, manufacture, test, launch, operations and near-end-of-life with experience in a wide variety of aspects in the aerospace business including mission operations, engineering, SMA, science, facilities and institutional operations, and more. Becky holds a BS Aerospace Engineering with Math and Physics minors from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott, AZ, and MS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering focused in Propulsion and Attitude Control. In her free time, Becky enjoys painting and gardening.
