Brief Bio

Chris Proctor is a lead scientific programmer/analyst and oceanographer in the Ocean Ecology Laboratory (OEL) at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. He received his Bachelors of Arts in Geology at Bowdoin College in 2005 and his Masters of Science in Oceanography from the University of Maine in 2008. He has worked at OEL Ocean Biology Processing Group (OBPG) since 2011. He leads the SeaWiFS Bio-optical Archive and Storage System (SeaBASS) managing its team and systems. His interests include the management and distribution of oceanographic datasets, data management, and bio-optical remote sensing of the oceans including the validation of satellite-based remote sensing radiometers and algorithms.
