Brief Bio


Timothy Lahmers is an Assistant Research Scientist (NASA/GSFC/UMD-ESSIC). As a NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) fellow prior to joining ESSIC, he gained experience validating the NASA LIS/WRF-Hydro system. He has experience configuring LIS/WRF-Hydro for research and quasi-operations as well as executing the LIS system for DA experiments. As a core member of the LIS/WRF-Hydro development team, he helped to oversee the testing, development, and release of the LIS/WRF-Hydro system. From his Ph.D. at the University of Arizona, he also has experience calibrating distributed hydrologic models with custom configurations and investigating the impacts of surface hydrology on the atmosphere through high resolution coupled atmospheric and hydrologic models.
